Hey guys! Hope you had a great week! Summer is coming to a close, and as I look back on ways I've tried to improve over this break and begin to feel anxiety for the coming school year, I have to remind myself of certain truths of whose I am and my calling as a student, daughter, friend etc. I also have to remind myself of small things day to day to continue to strive heavenward towards happiness and a better version of myself. Here's a list I made a few weeks ago. Hope these remind you to continue on no matter how dull, hard, exhausting, and discouraging your day might have been. You deserve happiness, and you deserve to discover those things which will lead you to it, starting with the one who created you, being grounded in His promises, and pushing forward in everyday life.
Life tips/reminders
Exercise- it makes you feel alive and just so so much better
Spend time outside- it brings you peace and clarity and beauty
Enjoy the food you eat- this usually involves making smart and good choices about what you eat and how much
Don’t waste the day sleeping- night times get restless, please just sleep, but also never underestimate a good late night
Be attentive to details- it’s in the small things, allow yourself to wonder
Try new things- it’s terrifying, but don’t you wanna be original?
Wear outfits that inspire you- feel beautiful, comfortable, and confident. This could be a sweatshirt or a rlly good power outfit
Don’t scroll all day- this makes you question your worth whether you admit it or not and you never feel good afterwards
STOP victimizing yourself- this doesn’t mean its your fault, it means you have the power of CHOICE
Read, listen, learn stories- we’re made of narratives, this is how you learn about the world
Even if you suck at mainstream ‘creative’ things, appreciate a creative eye and talent in others and try and find yours
Celebrate others successes without questioning your own worth for GOSH SAKES
Coffee- it’s just great, thats all
Your health is important- physical AND mental- and a priority, don’t just try and power through all the time
Understand and truly discover what you’re passionate and live in accordance to this
Pray a rosary
Never let yourself become overwhelmed by a task, get 1% better/done every day- nothing happens in a day
NEVER put others down with your successes but be proud of yourself
NEVER sell yourself short with fake humility, you’re basically slapping God in the face, so sis, stop it
verso l'alto
